About

Mahendra Singh Dhoni — known to the world as MS Dhoni or Captain Cool — is one of the greatest cricket captains in history. He led India to victory in all three major ICC tournaments: the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

Born in Ranchi, Jharkhand, he rose from humble origins to become the most successful Indian cricket captain of all time. His calm, unflappable leadership style under pressure earned him the nickname Captain Cool, and his trademark helicopter shot became one of cricket's most celebrated strokes.

He is the only captain in world cricket to have won all three ICC major trophies. His final over finishes, cool-headed finishing and inspirational captaincy made him one of the most beloved figures in Indian sport.
