The house that will hold the tenth edition — and the first Asian Awards ever staged outside London.
Nine editions in London taught us that the building matters more than anyone admits. A room can carry an evening or quietly undermine it. For the first Asian Awards held outside the United Kingdom — and for the edition that establishes our home in India — we wanted a house that could hold the occasion without being asked twice.
Fairmont Mumbai is that house. It is also our Official Host Partner, which is a different thing from a venue booking: an active hand in building what the awards become in India, not simply the address printed on the invitation.
Reception, ceremony and gala dinner all happen inside the same building. No coach transfers, no losing half the room between courses, no weather. For a black-tie evening in December with guests flying in from four continents, that is not a convenience. It is the whole plan.
The Infinity Ballroom runs to 1,954 square metres under an eight metre ceiling with nothing in the middle of it. Every table sees the stage. Anyone who has sat behind a column at an awards dinner understands why we started here.
Art Deco in the Bombay tradition — black and white marble, brass, stained glass, a coffered ceiling of lit panels. Photographs from this building will run in the press the following morning, and they will look like something.
The hotel sits beside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Terminal 2, with complimentary transfers. Guests land and are in the building. For an international honours list, arrival friction is the quiet killer, and here there is almost none.
Guest rooms, suites and Fairmont Gold sit above the ballroom. Honourees, their families and the international contingent are not scattered across the city at one in the morning.
Seventy five thousand square feet of event space, a dedicated separate entrance for arrivals, and a banqueting team that runs celebrations at this scale as routine. We are not teaching anybody how to host.
Fairmont is one of the defining names in luxury hospitality, behind some of the most storied addresses in the world. Fairmont Mumbai is its Indian flagship, and part of Accor.
As Official Host Partner of the tenth edition, Fairmont Mumbai is a founding partner of the awards’ Indian chapter — committed not to one night but to what the platform becomes here.

Indicative shape. The running order is confirmed closer to the date.
The tenth edition will recognise figures from business, science, philanthropy, technology, culture, sport and public life. Honourees will be announced in the coming months. The archive of those honoured since 2010 is on the past winners page.
Fairmont Mumbai. Black tie. Tables and individual seats are allocated by invitation and on application.
