The Asian Awards, the international honours platform founded in London in 2010, will hold its tenth edition at Fairmont Mumbai on Friday 5 February 2027. It will be the first Asian Awards ceremony held outside the United Kingdom in the platform's history. Fairmont Mumbai has been named Official Host Partner of the event.
The move marks a deliberate shift rather than a one-off. After nine editions in London, The Asian Awards intends to make Mumbai the long-term home of the platform, and the tenth edition is the beginning of that chapter.
Since its founding, The Asian Awards has recognised extraordinary achievement across the global Asian world — in business, science, philanthropy, technology, culture, sport and public life. It is not a regional ceremony and not a film awards night. It is a convening of people whose work has changed what the world expects, and it has always recognised legacy and impact rather than popularity.
Fairmont Mumbai joins the tenth edition as Official Host Partner, taking an active role in establishing the awards' Indian future rather than serving solely as the venue. The ceremony, gala dinner and reception will all be held within the hotel, whose Infinity Ballroom is among the largest pillarless event spaces in the city.
Past honourees give a measure of the room. Ratan Tata, Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, A R Rahman, Jackie Chan, Sir Ben Kingsley and Jack Ma have all been recognised by The Asian Awards, alongside Professor Muhammad Yunus, Sir Venkatraman Ramakrishnan and Demis Hassabis. Bruce Lee, Freddie Mercury, Mother Teresa and Ravi Shankar have been honoured posthumously. More recent editions have recognised BTS, Zayn Malik and M S Dhoni.
“We started this in London in 2010 because the achievements of the Asian world were not being recognised at the level they deserved. Seventeen years later the room we bring together is one of the most remarkable anywhere.
Bringing it to India for the tenth edition is not a change of address. It is the awards arriving where they always belonged. Mumbai has done more than any city to carry Asian achievement to a global audience, and we intend to stay.
Fairmont Mumbai understood the ambition from the first conversation. They are not hosting an event for us; they are helping us build something here.”
The tenth edition will recognise figures from business, science, philanthropy, technology, culture, sport and public life. Honourees will be announced in the coming months. The Asian Awards does not confirm recipients until each has been individually approached and has accepted.
