Praise for Muthiah Muralidaran

"Over nearly 20 years, Murali has been an inspirational part of Sri Lanka's transformation from a largely ignored cricketing island intoaformidableforce. Withhisuniquebowlingaction,Murali created a new delivery – the doosra – which led to him being virtuallyunplayableinfavourableconditions. Whilestatistically clearly the most successful bowler that has ever played the game of cricket, his greatness can be seen in the way that he regularly had to single-handedly carry his country – often to victory against the established test nations. Without doubt Murali will be remembered as one of the modern greats of cricket."
