JUDGING
The Asian Awards panel of judges is made up of key business people, cultural leaders and eminent political figures, led by Baroness Verma of Leicester. As Chair of the judging panel, she presides over a nomination committee of prominent individuals, from all backgrounds and walks of life.
A transparent process determines the winner for each of the categories. The first stage sees the creation of a long list through independent research. A broad based panel of judges, handpicked for their involvement in community and business debates, scores and ranks the nominees against the criteria to determine the winner. These winners are then sent to a high profile endorsement panel for final approval and ratification.
Key individuals involved in the judging of The Asian Awards in 2010 included, BBC DJ, Nihal Arthanayake, film director, Gurinder Chadha OBE, Double Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes DBE MBE, Chairman of the Burberry Group, John Peace and Lord Alan Sugar.
